Eddie Redmayne , the young British star making his Broadway debut in Red, took home the 2010 Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play.
Redmayne, who plays the young apprentice to painter Mark Rothko in the play, acknowledged John Logan’s “beautiful play,” his director Michael Grandage and the Donmar Warehouse, the London theater where he debuted the play last year.
“Above all,” he thanked “’Alfredo’ Molina,” his co-star in the two-hander. “You are a king among men,” he gushed. “It’s been a treat and a joy and a pleasure working with you.”
